Happy 2023 You!

As you set your goals, resolutions, intentions, or nothing at all, the new year is here and it’s something that makes us hopeful about what’s to come next.

But any year is only as effective as the choices we make that are led by the awareness we have. And since my mission is to make self-awareness come as easy as lurking on Instagram, here are some real paradoxes that you may wanna be mindful of this bright year.

Thought we’d give you a heads-up before you realize this stuff the hard way.

Paradox #1: The more you resist something, the more it’s gonna tag right behind you. Energy works in funny ways. Our thoughts and intentions play up in the wider electromagnetic field as a result of which you get what you think about, whether you want it or not! So if you’re spending all your time trying to avoid something, don’t be surprised if it’s trailing right behind ya.

Paradox #2: The more you want someone to like you, the less interested they’ll be. If you’re trying tooooo hard to make someone like you, you’ll only going to be repelled by them. No one likes a pile-on, period.

Paradox #3:The more validation you seek, the less likely you love yourself. Let’s get this clear. Self-love is not about posting a hundred selfies on social media and inviting people to comment on how amazing you look. If anything, it’s a sign of insecurity. The same applies to being stuck in people-pleasing habits, not having one’s own sense of boundary, or exercising personal choice. Self-acceptance is the key to safely locking the door of validation.

Paradox #4: The lesser discipline you exercise now, the more it’ll bite you later. Instant gratification rules our world. Everything we want is available at our fingertips, within a seconds. Our obsession with cheap shots of pleasure jeopardizes the daily discipline of doing stuff that needs to be done. Much like getting in the gym instead of watching a celebrity workout on youtube, reading a book instead of watching a show, eating a home-cooked healthy meal instead of ordering in a fat-fried chicken behavior. Choose discipline first, if you don’t want a nasty bite in your butt.

Paradox #5 : The more you chase after happiness, the more anxious you will end up feeling. The constant pursuit of happiness may actually make one feel more miserable. Besides putting an unreasonable amount of pressure, the lack of happiness accompanied by feelings of dissatisfaction in any given moment can make you feel like a failure and anxious about why you’re not happy all the time. Makes sense?

Paradox 6: The less you learn, the more you’ll be deceived about how much you think you know. If you notice, the cockiest people are the ones who think they know it all and will fight you to prove their point, without any curiosity to dig deeper or learn more about something. So don’t be cocky, be a learner. This year and every year.

That’s about it.

To an epic year of shared learning, better beliefs, new choices and growth.

P.S: Feel free to share your thoughts or any additons in the comments.
